Description:

Manufactured in 1900, this revolver is documented as to have been owned and carried by the Town Marshall of Terrell, Texas, F.W. "Pete" Richie. The revolver comes with a letter from Tommy Rholes of Van, Texas stating this revolver was carried by Richie as Town Marshall of Terrell during the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, and a letter from Chadick's Ltd. dated July 16, 1992 of Terrell, Texas stating that this revolver was purchased from Mr. Richie's widow. The President of the company, Herschel Chadick, knew Mr. Richie personally. The revolver was then in turn sold to Mr. Rholes. A copy of Mr. Richie's obituary is also included. This revolver is also listed by serial number on page 347 of the Colt Peacemaker Encyclopedia, Volume 2 as "used by town marshall Terrell, Texas, 1920s to 1940s." Standard markings and matching serial numbers. Factory letter verifies the configuration with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 10 to Simmons Hardware in St. Louis, Mo. on November 30, 1900. Comes with a Sterling silver Town Marshall, Terrell, Texas badge with "F. W. RICHIE" engraved and gold highlighted on the back and a tooled brown leather, unmarked single loop holster.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a smooth mottled gray patina on the crisp metal surfaces. There is some moderate metal wear on the left side of the muzzle. The grips are fair with heavy wear on the left panel and almost all of the checkering on the right panel worn smooth. The markings are clear. The action is fine. The badge and holster are fine with some minor wear and tight stitching on the holster.
