Manufactured in the mid-19th century by John Alkin Blake & Co. of Wapping, London. Features "I.A. BLAKE & Co" on the dog and bird scene engraved back action lock, floral scroll engraving on the other fittings, a bead front sight and "I.A. BLAKE & Co LONDON" marking on the top of the Damascus barrel, series of bands at the transition point, platinum blowout plug and two inlaid gold bands on the breech plug, silver forend cap, and attractive silver inlaid scroll and floral designs in the checkered stock. 13 3/4 inch length of pull.

Fine with half of the period refurbished brown finish remaining on the barrel, dark blue/brown patina on the balance, some minor marks and scratches, faint barrel markings, and some patches of slight pitting. The refinished stock is also fine and has partially smoothed checkering, smooth refreshed oil finish, slivers of wire inlay coming loose, and light surface scratches and dings. Mechanically excellent.
