The blued screw off barrel signed "DANL. FRASER & CO. GUN & RIFLE MANUFACTURERS 4 LEITH ST. TERRACE EDINBURGH". Matted ramp mounted bead front sight with flip up moon sight and block mounted rear sight of one fixed and one folding leaf respectively graduated for 100 and 200 yards, each leaf matted, the fixed leaf with white pointer and the folding leaf with platinum inlaid center line. Blued receiver with matted top flat, engraved "FITTED WITH FRASER'S PATENT TRIGGER ACTION" and with scrollwork with Celtic strapwork border lines. The bolt with turned down handle engraved en suite with the receiver and with chequered knob, the cocking piece is fitted with a folding aperture rear sight. Blued magazine floor plate and trigger guard engraved en suite with the receiver. Well figured 14 inch pistol grip stock with raised cheekpiece and checkered grip and detachable forearm. Dark horn pistol grip cap and checkered buttplate, the underside of the butt with inlet engraved rear sling eye with the forward sling eye mounted below the barrel. Weight: 7 lbs. 9 oz., London nitro proofmarks.

Professionally restored, some age related rubbing to finish, engraving remains crisp, clear and excellent. Minor age related marking to stock, detachable forearm wood replaced. Mechanically excellent. Provenance: Robert M. Lee Collection.
