Originally manufactured in 1949. The consignor attributes the rifle to Colorado gunsmith and custom gunmaker Clayton Nelson. Tapered medium weight barrel with mid barrel band and caliber marking on the left side of the chamber. Standard Winchester markings on the receiver with scope bases and rings, jewelled bolt, knurled bolt handle knob, and hinged floor plate. Extra fancy figured checkered pistol grip stock with Fleur-de-leis carved borders, ebony forend cap, and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally barreled and refinished with 99% of the blue finish remaining, some light cycling marks, and original proofs absent. The stock is also very fine with attractive dark figure, crisp checkering, and some small dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
