The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 2 1/2 inch barrel, .38 frame but chambered in .32 caliber, blue finish and checkered wood stocks when manufactured on June 16, 1927. Colt letters rarely provide a date of manufacture. It was shipped to Elmira Arms Co., Elmira, New York, on September 24, 1927. Standard markings and matching numbers on the yoke and crane. The Police Positive box is numbered to match the gun and features an end label listing the rare 2 1/2 inch barrel length. Comes with "Special Instructions," "Protected by Colt" and "Is Your Turn Next?" pamphlets.

Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original blue finish showing some very light spotting on the grip straps. There is a small spot flaking on the left side of the barrel. The grips are also excellent with crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with a repaired tear on a short end and some scattered minor wear. An excellent example of a Colt Police Positive .32 on a .38 frame revolver with a rare 2 1/2 inch barrel.
