This is a rare large frame Colt New Service Flattop Target revolver in the scarce 455 Eley cartridge, manufactured in 1916. The top of the barrel has the two-line Colt address and patent markings, and the left side of the barrel is marked "NEW SERVICE .455 ELEY" next to a set of London "crown/ GP" and "crown/ V" proofs. The "V" is repeated on the left side of the chamber, and both are present in the cylinder flutes. It has the target style high front sight (adjustable for elevation) and target rear sight (adjustable for windage) with the Flattop frame marked with the Rampant Colt on the side plate. Checkered walnut grips with the fleur de lis checkering pattern on both sides and silver Colt medallions at the tops. The grip straps and the face of the trigger are all factory checkered. The included factory letter confirms the guns configuration and that it was shipped to London Armoury Company on March 18, 1916.

Excellent, with 95% of the original blue finish, a number of light dings and scratches, and hints of a gray patina along the edges. The grips are very good, with minor pressure dents and crisp checkering. Excellent action.
