Manufactured post 1940s, this pistol has over 95% of its surface covered with fine engraving, primarily of a deeply cut oak leaf pattern with vine, zig-zag and scroll borders, and some checkerboard panels, all of which is then finished in a gold wash. This engraving surrounds and encloses the standard slide markings, with (Nazi) "eagle/N" proofs on the slide, chamber hood and muzzle, and the matching hand-scribed serial number inside the slide. The grips are the standard Walther wrap-around style, with a gold washed and engraved flat magazine floorplate. No information on the original purchaser or recipient of this pistol is available; PPKs of this level of finish are often recorded as being presentation/award pieces to prominent individuals as well as the privately purchased sidearms of the well-to-do.

Very fine, with 80% of the period replaced (over blue) gold finish, showing scattered dark spotting overall, along with some mild cycling wear and handling marks. Blue is visible in the protected areas of the trigger guard and most of the magazine. The grips are bending outward a bit at the top and bottom, with the surface showing mild scuffs and a slight "waxy" appearance. Mechanically excellent.
