Description:

Measuring about 12 inches tall, this pitcher is constructed from 92.5% pure sterling silver, bearing the "BRUCKMANN" hallmark for P. Bruckmann & Sons of Heilbronn on the underside, with a 2" x 2 1/2" rectangle of "Greek key" linework bordering a raised and engraved Nazi eagle, with the letters "A" and "H" flanking the swastika. This variant of the Nazi eagle was known as the "Fuehreradler" or Fuehrer Eagle, and was reportedly designed by Adolf Hitler himself to serve as a sort of personal logo or emblem. Virtually all of his household goods and personal effects bore this symbol, with the Greek Key bordering also seen on a number of examples. Typically produced as compete sets, few such groupings survive to the modern day, either being destroyed as Nazi artifacts by the post-War German authorities or split up by souvenir hunters.

Rating Definition:

Fine. A mixed aged patina is present overall, with some light dings and fingerprint marks, as well as a light dent on the tip of the spout.
