Description:

Designed by Tullio Marengoni, Beretta's chief gun designer, the 1918/1930 is derived from the World War I era Villar-Perosa sub-machine gun. In addition to abandoning the dual-receiver 'cigarette tray' mounting in favor of a more conventional carbine stock, the feed system was reworked to load from the bottom instead of the top. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the receiver marked "PIETRO BERETTA - GARDONE VALLE TROMPIA - ITALIA - CAL. 9" and "MADE IN ITALY/BREVETTO 1918-1930/175" at the rear. The left side of the receiver is marked "POLICIA DE LA PROVINCIA DE BUENOS AIRES" (Police of Buenos Aires Province). A mounting lug for a folding bayonet (not included) is present on the barrel, with a sliding dust cover for the magazine port and a smooth hardwood stock with a two-piece cleaning rod in the butt cavity and a steel buttplate. Per ATF guidelines, the Beretta 1918/30 is considered a Curio and Relic, and does not qualify as a "Short Barreled Rifle".

Rating Definition:

Very good with most of the refinished blue, showing covered pitting (under the blue) along the edges of the wood, some areas of rough texture, and mild handling marks overall. The stock is good, with some dents and scuffs. Mechanically fine.
