Description:

This revolver was manufactured around 1863 during the transition from the Model 1861 to the New Model (10000-22000 range) and has the older cone style German silver front sight, the New Model solid loading lever, "PATENTED SEPT. 14. 1858/E. REMINGTON & SONS . ILION NEW YORK.U.S.A." marking on the top flat of the barrel without the New Model designation, safety notches on the cylinder, and U.S. inspection marks throughout including a "BH" cartouche on the left grip. The matching serial number is on the bottom of the barrel, the left side of the grip frame, back of the grips, and back of the cylinder ("93," "50," and "B"). The New Model Army was the second most widely issued revolver of the Civil War and only trailed Colt's Model 1860 Army.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 85% plus old refurbished blue finish, some light spotting, fading on the grip frame, and spots of light pitting visible under the blue on the cylinder. The left side of the hammer has a patch of vibrant original case colors. The grips are very fine with mild dings and scratches and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically fine.
