Manufactured c.1918-1919 as part of Great Britain's second contract with Colt for a 455 Eley-chambered Government Model Pistol. This particular Government Model has been altered to 45 ACP. Blade and flat top notch sights, with the two-line, two-block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide divided by the Rampant Colt. The right side was originally marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 455", with the last "5" now struck out (most likely to designate conversion to 45ACP). The left side of the frame is stamped "R.A.F." ahead of the slide stop and "crown/G2/A" (G.W.R. Steadman, assigned to Colt in April of 1918) above the magazine catch. A "crown/V" London proof is present at the right rear of the slide and frame, with "NOT ENGLISH MAKE" near the slide stop hole. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips, a full blue "L" marked magazine, and a replacement WWII era High Standard barrel.

Very good as rebarreled, with 70% of the arsenal refurbished dip blue finish, showing some cleaned-up pitting on the front strap, a mixed brown on the back strap, scattered spotting, bright edge wear, and scattered handling marks. The grips are good, with some dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
