Description:

Manufactured from 1954-1956, this a pre-Model 12 Airweight revolver produced on government contract for the U.S. Air Force, who designated it the Model 13 Aircrewmen and requested the revolvers be stamped "M13". The revolvers were intended for use by flight crews as survival weapons, but was rejected in the 50s because of problems with the alloy cylinder and most were destroyed by the government. This example has been deactivated with torch marks on the right side of the frame, cylinder, and barrel (see image). The top strap is marked "REVOLVER, LIGHTWEIGHT, M13," and the back strap is marked "PROPERTY OF U.S. AIR FORCE". The checkered grips have S&W medallions, and the right panel is numbered to a different gun. Comes with a "USAF" marked leather holster.

Rating Definition:

Poor. The revolver retains traces of the original finish with high edge wear. The grips are very good with some minor-moderate dings and scratches and some blemishes in the checkering. The holster is very fair with a detached snap and minor flex wear and handling/storage marks.
