Description:

U.S. inspected Commando revolvers were issued to state militia forces, security teams at war-essential industrial centers, and similar "home front" applications. Only about 3,450 Commando model revolvers were manufactured with the short 2 inch barrel. Fixed sights, the two-line Hartford address (correctly with "CONN" abbreviation in the barrel address) is on the right side of barrel, and "COLT COMMANDO/38 SPECIAL" is on the left side of the barrel. Correct round type front sight. The "VP" Colt proof and the letter "V" are on the left side of the trigger guard, and a flaming ordnance bomb is above the cylinder release. Correct checkered plastic grips. No factory letter is available to describer at this time.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. 98% original dark parkerized finish remains with some light edge wear, surface scratches and handling marks throughout. Grips are also excellent with some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
