These 1917 rifles were the primary service rifle used by the American Expeditionary Forces throughout WWI and many saw service during the early days of WWII, making original unaltered examples very scarce. Barrel marked "W/flaming bomb/1-19" with fixed blade front and adjustable ladder and peep rear sights, standard receiver markings, and "eagle head" and "flaming bomb" proofs on the left receiver rail. With a "flaming bomb" stamped "NS" marked nickel steel bolt. Pistol grip stock with a "W" stamped at the nose, "eagle head/530" inspection mark behind the trigger guard, and flat steel buttplate with trapdoor. With leather sling.

Very fine. 95% possibly arsenal refurbished blue finish remains with faint inspections marks on top left receiver, some light scratches on the floor plate, and small handling marks overall. The wood is also excellent with inspection marks and some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
