Description:

Manufactured in 1943, this pistol bears a set of proofs from the Birmingham Proof House, as well as additional stamps for the British military. While not documented, these markings are traditionally found on handguns transferred from the United States to Great Britain as part of the Lend-Lease program. The frame is also marked "RELEASED/BRITISH GOVT 1952", indicating commercial sale post-WWII. Blade and flat top notch sights, with the standard slide markings, "FJA" inspected frame, stamped trigger, thin checkered hammer, long grip safety, checkered thumb safety, serrated slide catch and arched mainspring housing, reinforced Colt grips, "R"/"C-R" marked full blue magazine and an "F" marked Flannery Bolt barrel. Included with the pistol is a reproduction "kraft" style brown cardboard box, with the traditional nomenclature on the lid as well as a matching ink-stamped serial number and a recurring "BNP" ink stamp.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original parkerized finish, showing some bright edge wear and handling marks, as well as a few dings on the rear sight. The grips are very fine with mild dings and flat spots. The reproduction box is very good, with mild wear and stains. Mechanically excellent.
