Manufactured late in 1918. Some collectors refer to this variation of Colt 1911 as a "Black Army" due to the almost black finish. Blade front and flat top notch rear sights, the two-line/two-block address and patent dates divided by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide, the Army nomenclature on the reverse, and a United States Property marked frame with "eagle/S17" inspection mark. Fitted with a long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, smooth mainspring housing, a "B" marked pinned base magazine, and a conjoined "HP" marked Colt barrel. Included with the pistol is an extra magazine (two-toned, lanyard base, unmarked) and a "S-B CO./1917" marked brown leather holster.

Fine, with 80% plus original dark blue finish, showing some bright edge wear, scattered dings, and some light handling marks and spotting overall. The grips are very good as revarnished, with some dings and dents. The holster is good, with some cracks, scuffs and verdigris. Mechanically excellent.
