Manufactured by Master Gunsmith Clayton Nelson of Colorado, and master engraved by Tommy J Kaye (1938-2015) of Yoakum, Texas. Clayton Nelson is an adjutant instructor at the Trinidad School Of Gunsmithing and an NRA stock making instructor. He is the instructor on "stock inletting" at the school who also happens to be exceptional, well known metalsmith. Tommy Kaye was a founding member of the Firearms Engravers Guild of America, and its first Vice President. Hooded blade front and fixed express notch rear sight on a raised quarter rib inscribed "C. NELSON - T. KAYE" with dual gold inlaid bands at the muzzle and breech, and splashes of fine floral scroll at the breech. Small wedges of fine scroll on the receiver with a fully engraved floorplate depicting a gold inlaid relief carved rhinoceros with scroll on the balance. Finely checkered pistol grip stock with contrasting forend cap, engraved and gold inlaid grip cap depicting a fishhook and rifle cartridge, raised cheekpiece, and solid rubber recoil pad.

Excellent. 99% original matte blue finish remains with sharp masterfully executed engraving, bold gold inlays, and some light cycling marks on the bolt. The wood is very good with crisp checkering, small dings, and some cracks in the grain visible on the right side of the butt. Mechanically excellent.
