Most of the relatively short production run utilized the "fishtail" breech lever also found on the Model 1840 Hall carbines, but this is an early transitional/Type I example the retains the Model 1819 hooked breech lever. It has blade and notch sights, brown lacquer finished iron hardware, casehardened breech marked "H. FERRY/US/1841," a steel button head ramrod, and a socket bayonet. The barrel is rifled.

Rating Definition:

Good with mottled brown patina and mild pitting, a cracks on the sides of the refinished stock between the trigger guard and hammer, and minor scratches and dings throughout. Mechanically fine. the slightly bent correct bayonet is also good.
