Comes with a letter from Veterans Memorial Museum (Branson, MO) Curator Frederick Hoppe stating this carbine was examined by Civil War and Indian Wars expert and author Dick Harmon in September 2000 and based on the serial number Harmon identified this carbine as being issued to the 7th Cavalry prior to the Battle of Wounded Knee.
