Manufactured in 1885. Fixed blade front and sporting leaf rear sight, full length tube magazine, loading port on right side of the receiver, saddle ring and stamped Rampant Colt on the left side, smooth trigger, checkered hammer spur, checkered forearm and plain straight grip stock with an iron buttplate. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line Hartford address and patent date information just ahead of the rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked "32 Cal" just behind the "crown/B" proofmark which is also on the left upper side of the receiver at the breech. The leaf of the rear sight is graduated to 900 yards. This carbine was originally shipped to Hammacher & Delius of New York, New York, on May 25, 1897 along with 4 other guns.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 85% of the original blue finish remaining with thinning on sharp edges and high areas, the most showing in the area of the saddle ring. The magazine has a very faint brown patina which follows down onto the trigger guard, and the buttplate shows a brown patina with thinning at the heel and toe. The brilliant case colors are very evident on the sides and rear of the trigger with the top being worn to white. The wood is very fine with usual handling and storage marks. The action is fine.
