Manufactured in 1889. The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 4 3/4 inch barrel in .44-40 caliber, blue finish and hard rubber stocks when shipped to Colt's San Francisco Agency on September 14, 1889, as part of a 5 gun shipment. The barrel is marked with the two-line address on top and "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left side, and the left side of the frame has the three-line patent dates marking. Matching serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, back strap and both grip panels. Comes with a H.H. Heiser leather holster rig.

Fine. The revolver retains 40% original blue finish and strong traces of original case colors in the protected areas with the overall balance a smooth brown-gray patina. The grips are also fine with a small chip missing near the bottom (right panel), a series of moderate dings on the bottoms and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The holster rig is fine showing some minor handling/storage marks and flex wear and tight stitching overall.
