One of around 12,000 manufactured in 1868-1888. It features a German silver blade front sight, sporting rear sight, the "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION N.Y." address on top of the barrel, "44S" on the bottom ahead of the forearm, matching serial numbers on the barrel and lower tang, and non-matching forearm.

Very good with 70% original blue finish, traces of original case colors, some faint markings, brown and gray patina, and light oxidation. The wood is fair with moderate overall wear, including some chipping, bruising, and cracks. Mechanically fine.
