Description:

The Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver was the main handgun of the Union Army during the Civil War and is one of Colt's best percussion revolvers. It provided the reliable firepower of the .44 caliber Dragoon revolvers in a much more streamlined design. This revolver was manufactured in 1861 on contract for the U.S. Military and has standard markings and features, matching numbers on the barrel, frame, trigger, back strap, cylinder and arbor pin, mismatched wedge, small inspection marks, and inspector's cartouche (left side of grip).

Rating Definition:

Fine. The revolver retains 50% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. Trigger guard is bent flat in front. Frame has a short replacement trigger screw with nothing protruding from the left side. Nearly all of the cylinder scene remains. 30% of original case colors remain on the loading lever, hammer and frame. The grip is fine with a small missing chip near the bottom (right side) and some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
