This rifle appears to have been manufactured pre-March 1888 given the use of the "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, N.Y." marking on the barrel ahead of the sporting rear sight. It has a golden combination blade and globe front sight, a modern replacement long range tang peep sight, standard patent markings, "45.70" on the bottom of the barrel, "S. ProKop" hand marked on the top side of the forearm, matching serial numbers, smooth forearm with steel Schnabel tip and checkered round knob semi-pistol grip buttstock with standard rifle buttplate.

Fine overall with 60% original blue finish, 40% original case colors on the action, smooth gray and brown patina on most of the faded areas, some light spotting, some scuffs in the otherwise crisp checkering, slight chip in the front of the comb, mild scratches on the wood, a fresh surface chip on the bottom of the buttstock, and general minor marks. Mechanically excellent.
