The Colt Model 1860 Army Revolver was the main handgun of the Union Army during the Civil War and is one of Colt's best percussion revolvers. It provided the reliable firepower of the .44 caliber Dragoon revolvers in a much more streamlined design. This revolver was manufactured in 1863 on contract for the U.S. Military and has standard markings and features, matching numbers (no number found on grip), small inspection marks, and inspectors' cartouches.

Very good plus overall with traces of original finish, aged patina on the brass, mostly mottled gray patina on the balance, slight pitting/oxidation, solid cylinder safety pins, moderate lower edge wear on the grips, and distinct cylinder scene. The grip is fine with clearly visible cartouches. Mechanically excellent. Overall, a very solid original example of the main Union revolver issued during the Civil War.
