Description:

This early production revolver was manufactured c. 1861 and has the matching serial number "304" throughout including on the grip. Brass grip frames were the standard on this model as they were with most of the Model 1849 Pocket revolvers, but this one has a silver plated iron grip frame. Other first year production examples are also known with iron grip frames. Another distinct feature of these early models is the use of "ADDRESS SAML COLT HARTFORD CT" barrel marking. Later examples had the New York marking. The other markings and features are standard.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 50% plus original blue on the barrel and cylinder, 30% original case colors, 20% original silver, and mostly smooth patina where the finish has faded or it has been cleaned. There are minor nicks and scratches throughout. The grip is very good and has moderate edge and handling wear, numerous dents and scratches, and more than half of the original varnish. Mechanically excellent.
