Description:

Most of these Model 1861 Navy conversion revolvers were manufactured in the mid-1870s, and many of Colt's conversion revolvers saw hard use in the West. The barrel has the one-line New York address, the left side of the frame has the two-line, two patent dates marking, and the left side of the trigger guard is stamped "36 CAL." The cylinder has been re-numbered to the gun, has the roll engraved naval battle scene, and British proofmarks stamped between the chambers at the rear. Matching serial numbers are found on the barrel, trigger guard, and back strap. The loading gate as assembly number "2617."

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The revolver retains 85% of the nickel finish with wear concentrated on the high edges and frame. The hammer and trigger have a dark patina. 80% of the cylinder scene remains. The grip is fine with minor high edge wear and retaining much of the finish. Mechanically excellent.
