Born in 1923 in Argentina, Alfonso Pineda got his start in leather craft while guiding American tourists on alligator hunts, where he would use the skins to craft wallets, bags, belts, and other fine leather items. After immigrating to the U.S. in 1957 he worked directly with legendary Hollywood holster designer and maker Arvo Ojala (best known for his "fast draw" rigs used in Western films). Alfonso went on to found his own leather works, and design his own custom fast draw rigs as well as outfitting Hollywood celebrities such as John Wayne, Gary Cooper, Jerry Lewis and Sammy Davis Jr. The included letter from Santa Fe Gun Galeria states this holster was originally made and purchased by screen actor and action movie icon Sylvester Stallone. It further states the holster was then gifted to Sylvester's brother Frank. The rig was lengthened at Alfonso's to accommodate the larger Stallone brother. Belt is black leather with white stitching, 25 cartridge loops, multiple diamond and round stud chrome accents, and the as mentioned extension. The matching holster features both a leg tie, and hammer loop. The holster, belt, and extension are all marked with the "ALFONSO'S/HOLSTER & GUNSHOP/N.H. CALIF" maker's mark.

Very fine. The holster and belt rig overall have tight stitching, solid construction, some mild scuffs and age marks, and light patina on the chrome accents. A very finely crafted rig from one of the top names in Hollywood leather working.
