Description:

Manufactured in 1913. The one-line address is marked on the top of the barrel, and "45 COLT" is on the left side. The left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the Colt triangle "VP" proofmark and a "1" on the left rear. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The assembly number "917" is marked on the loading gate. Blue finish with a casehardened frame and hammer, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the configuration with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 2 to Sears Roebuck and Company in Chicago, Illinois, on March 3, 1913.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with 40% original blue finish remaining, concentrated mainly in protected areas. There is some minor pitting on the barrel and some minor spotting on the cylinder. The frame shows traces of faded original case colors with a mottled gray patina on the balance and some minor spotting. The grips are good with a reglued piece visible in upper right, some minor wear, and a few scattered minor dings and dents. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
