Description:

Manufactured in 1922. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, "32 W.C.F." on the left side, and the two-line, three patent dates are on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers. The right rear of the frame is marked with the assembly number "938", and the loading gate has "838" (probably a factory error). Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top, both numbered to the gun. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish with the grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 2 to Shapleigh Hardware Company in St. Louis, Mo. on September 8, 1922.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 60% plus original blue finish remaining, showing some muzzle and high point wear, and a smooth mottled gray patina on the grip straps. The frame retains 30% original fading case colors with a smooth mottled brown patina on the balance. The markings remain very crisp. The action is excellent.
