The accompanying Colt factory letter to this beautiful factory engraved Police Positive Special revolver confirms the 4 inch barrel in .38 caliber, blue finish, original grips and factory engraving when shipped to the loan account of Von Lengerke & Antoine, Chicago, Illinois, on December 9, 1925, factory order 10074/1. The revolver was returned to the factory on January 16, 1926, and finally sold and shipped to Von Lengerke & Antoine, a prominent Chicago sporting goods retailer, on January 25, 1926. A floral scroll engraving is featured throughout and surrounds the standard Colt markings. Coverage is approximately "B" style. The back of the grips are hand signed "APL III." With the exception of the polished hammer and trigger sides, the revolver has a blue finish. Comes with a later production replacement Colt leatherette box numbered to a different gun.

Excellent. The revolver retains 97% plus original blue finish with slight loss at the muzzle and a few light scratches. The grips are also excellent showing some minor scratches and have highly attractive grain and color. Mechanically excellent. The later production replacement box is fair with tape repairs.
