The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with a 7 1/2 inch barrel in .38 caliber, nickel finish, pearl stocks and factory "level 1 engraving" when it was shipped to famed Abercrombie & Fitch Co. of New York City on June 6, 1914. The engraving consists of scrollwork on a punch dot background on the rear barrel sides, frame (including the flat top strap), cylinder flats and trigger guard. Floral blossoms are engraved on the frame and crane. A geometric line motif covers the butt. The barrel address/patent dates marking is inside a simple engraved line and dot panel. Crane and yoke serial numbers match. It has target sights, standard Colt markings, checkered back strap, trigger and hammer spur and factory pearl grips with Rampant Colt medallions.

Exceptionally fine. The revolver retains 95% original nickel finish with minor flaking on the balance. The engraving is crisp. The grips are excellent with minimal handling evidence and highly attractive color. Mechanically fine. An attractive factory engraved and pearl stocked Officer's Model Target that will work well in any Colt DA collection.
