The butt is signed "Barry Lee Hands" in tiny script by the screw at the toe. Hands has been the president of the Firearm Engravers Guild of America (FEGA) since 2012 and has been a master engraver in the guild since 1996. He has worked with Colt, Winchester, Ithaca, and other American firearms companies and has traveled the world to study his craft. The revolver has dual gold bands on the muzzle and breech ends of the barrel and the front and back edges of the non-fluted cylinder which is also inlaid with a pair of golden Rampant Colts and engraved with relief scroll borders. The revolver features type B scroll and punch dot engraving and also has a gold inlaid Colt factory dome on the recoil shield, the Colt coat of arms on the loading gate, and Samuel Colt's signature on the back strap. There is also relief engraving on the top and bottom of the back strap. The shipping sleeve for the box has a Custom Shop label listing the "1 RAMPANT" serial number, the basic configuration, and the engraving. It comes in a glass top display case with a "Colt Statue Preservation/Single Action Army Revolver/1 RAMPANT/DONATED BY COLT'S MANUFACTURING CO., INC./OCTOBER 1, 1994" marked plaque indicating the revolver was part of the successful effort that led to the purchase and permanent display of the famous bronze Rampant Colt statue at the Museum of Connecticut History inside the State Library in Hartford.

Excellent overall with only a few minor scrapes and nicks, small chips at the edges of the grips, and light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The boxes and case are very good. This is a beautiful example of the work of one of the greatest living American firearms engravers.
