This is an excellent example of a 06/34 "Mauser Banner" Swiss contract Luger pistol rig. These were manufactured by Mauser as a commercial contract for Switzerland. This example has the old style 1906 barrel extension and frame, fast taper barrel, first pattern polished lower safety area, grip safety and no stock lug. The frame has been correctly fitted with the coil mainspring. It is estimated that 500 were manufactured in the 3500v-4000v serial number range for both the Swiss government, as well as other foreign countries. They can be found with and without a crest over the chamber area; this example was manufactured with the Swiss crest. It has the standard "Mauser Banner" on the front toggle, with the early style "Crown/U" commercial proofmark. The left frame rail is stamped "P 54" indicating the year it was released for commercial sale. The full serial number (3683v) is located on the front of the frame with serial number (3683) on the left side of the barrel extension and underside of the barrel, with the last two digits of the serial number (83) stamped on the various other parts. This scarce Swiss contract Luger is complete with one matching magazine and an original leather Swiss holster and shoulder strap. The magazine is an all blue version, with an aluminum base that is marked "3608/v". The holster is marked on the back side "R.T. ROHLER/40/MUNCHWILEN".

Very fine with 98% of the contrasting blue finish overall, with edge and high spot wear. The barrel finish is of a different process than the balance of pistol. (Writer cannot form an opinion as to originality due to varied finish process of this model of Luger.) The various small parts retain 98% of their straw colors overall. The grips are excellent with nice distinct original checkering. The holster is also very fine with nice original color showing minor darker areas with nice tight white stitching and clear markings on the back side.
