This example has the desirable dual coded receiver of "bcd/ar" indicating that rifle has a receiver manufactured at the Gustloff factory in Weimar and then sent to the Mauser Werke factory in Borsigwalde for final assembly into a K98 rifle. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the receiver ring marked "bcd/ar" and "42" and matching numbers on the bolt, barrel bands, trigger guard and floor plate. Smooth pistol grip stock, with a Nazi proofed and "1942" dated strap-on leather rear sight protector and a cupped steel buttplate marked "brg/41".

Extremely fine with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, scattered spotting and mild handling marks, as well as a mixed gray/copper patina on the bolt catch. The stock is fine with some light scratches and scuffs. Mechanically excellent.
