Manufactured 1909-1928 and patterned after the "Papa Nambu" pistol, the Baby Nambu was the semi-official officer's pistol of the Imperial Japanese Military. Developed as a home-grown alternative to imported American and European pocket-sized handguns, the Baby Nambu was sold through the military officer's union system for private purchase. Fixed sights, with the "cannonball" logo on top of the chamber, the 3-symbol Nambu nomenclature and serial number on the right side of the frame, checkered hardwood grips, and straw finished small parts. Matching numbers are present on multiple components. One replacement nickel finished magazine, numbered "1397", is included.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally refinished with 95% blue, showing some light handling marks and spotting. The grips are also fine, with a few dings on the sharp recut checkering. Mechanically fine.
