Description:

Manufactured around a new-made receiver with a combination of modern and wartime components, this fully functional submachine gun was manufactured by Wilson Arms of Brunswick, Georgia using a tube receiver as a reproduction of the WWII British Lanchester Mark I* submachine gun. Developed following the Dunkirk evacuation, the Lanchester was essentially the German MP28 with the markings knocked off; the British were in something of a hurry and not interested in trying to re-invent the wheel mid-crunch. Used alongside the STEN gun, the Lanchester evoked the previous generation of machined steel and hardwood SMGs and performed able service through and beyond the war. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with a brass magazine well bearing the original nomenclature and "M619" wartime code for the Sterling Armaments Company in Northampton, and the underside of the tubular receiver bearing the Wilson Arms markings and serial number. Fitted with an Enfield rifle style buttstock, with a tan canvas sling. Included with the SMG are two extra magazines, a loading tool and a spare barrel, as well as a modern soft case.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 95% plus black arsenal refurbished finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall. The barrel shroud shows some mild pitting beneath the finish. The stock is good, with a long chip absent from the left side near the receiver cap, a mended crack on the reverse, and mild dings and scuffs overall. Mechanically very good. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
