Description:

This is a very interesting example of a standard WWII Russian SVT Tokarev rifle that has been converted into a Russian AVT fully automatic type rifle, by the DLO (Douglas L. Oefinger) Company of Stamford Ct. He was a very well known class 2/3 manufacturer who operated a large business in the mid 1970s through the mid/late 1980s until the assault rifle ban was implemented. The SVT Tokarev rifles were the standard service rifle used and produced by the Russia from 1940 through 1944. There were manufactured at three different factories; the Tula, Ishevsk and Kovrov factories. The Tula and Ishevsk factories produced these rifles prior to and through out the war while the Kovrov factory only produced rifles in 1940-41. The top of the receiver is marked for the Kovrov factory with an Elongated Arrow, inside a Oblong Oval/1941. It went through the standard Russian Arsenal rebuild process after WWII so the various parts have been renumbered (via electric pencil) and are currently matching except the magazine. As noted this example has had the trigger group converted to an "AVT" fully automatic mechanism with the safety lever behind the trigger functioning as the selector switch, like the AVT. When the switch is pointed to the right it is on "fully automatic" and the its pointed to the left its on "semi-automatic" when centered behind the trigger it on "SAFE". As noted the trigger group for this rifle was converted into a "Fully Automatic" function by Douglas L. Oefinger of Stamford Ct. The side of the trigger housing is marked "DLO AVT-03" and it has been properly registered with the BATFE. This rifle has the hardwood stock and top handguard with the perforated front metal barrel cover.

Rating Definition:

Fine as converted to full auto with 85% of the arsenal blue finish overall as Russian Arsenal refurbished. The stock and handguard are both in very good condition with light scratches, handling marks overall with 70% of the arsenal varnish still on the outside of the stock. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
