Developed in 1999 and imported by Beretta, the TRG-42 was designed with an eye towards military sniping with the .338 Lapua Magnum round. Manufactured without sights, the rifle has a 3-port muzzle brake on its free-floating barrel and a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50 scope on the receiver. It is fitted with an aluminum-bedded stock, folding bipod, adjustable trigger, adjustable comb, "club foot" buttstock and a rubber recoil pad. The barrel of the rifle is threaded forward of the breech for the A.R.I.E.S. suppressor, a multi module system utilizing a full length carbon fiber handguard/heat sink that terminates a few inches after the actual muzzle and is threaded for the suppressor itself. This setup allows the barrel to remain free floating, and adds weight to the rifle as a whole without adding weight directly to the muzzle.

Excellent. 99% original finish remains on the receiver with light handling and cycling marks. The barrel under the carbon fiber sleeve shows significant powdery red oxidation with surface pitting throughout. Stock is excellent. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent with clear optics.
