Description:

This is a solid representative example of an "inoperable" WWII British manufactured MKII STEN submachine gun. These SMGs were the workhorse of the British and Great Britain through out WWII. They were produced in several configurations with the MKII being the most widely used and remained well into service with the British, Canadian, Australian and Indian Armies well into the 1970s until replaced by the Sterling SMG. They are a simple blow-back SMG that can fired in both a semi-automatic and fully automatic mode. It is estimated that well over 1 million were produced during WWII with an estimated manufacturing cost of approximately $9.00 each. They were produced by two factories, BSA Shirley and the Royal Ordnance factory at Fazakerley. This is a fairly early production model that obviously saw service somewhere, with the top of the magazine well marked "STEN MKII" with the underside marked with the "B" prefix, serial number "B0370703" over "E&C Co", which probably indicating manufacture by BSA Shirley. This example has the late pattern "T" style metal stock and it does not come with any magazines or accessories. The SMG was rendered inoperable by drilling a blind hole through the left side of the receiver and into the bolt and then a solid steel pin has been driven in place to secure the bolt. Additionally, there are some missing/damaged parts inside the trigger group as the trigger will not stay to the front.

Rating Definition:

Good as inoperable with 30% plus of its original black painted finish overall with most of the remaining finish in the lower protected areas of the receiver. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. Note: this is a fully functional (not DEWATED) WWII SMG that is currently listed on a Form 4 as a fully functional weapon. It has been rendered "inoperable" as identified and explained in the description above.
