Description:

Produced by Winchester late in World War II, the "WIN-13" (aka "Dash 13") Winchester M1 Garands were built using receivers that had been manufactured in 1943 and laid aside until late to mid 1945. Found in a serial number range of "1601150" to "1642000", itself an overrun of one of Springfield's assigned serial number blocks from 1943, the Win-13 Garands represent the very end of Winchester's WWII Garand run, numbering less than 40,000 out of over a half-million (about 8%) Winchester M1s. Blade front and locking bar equipped "battle range" peep sights, with a "WP/2" marked barrel, "W.R.A." bolt, trigger guard, trigger housing, hammer, and operating rod. The right receiver leg is marked "D28291WIN-13"; typical heat lot numbers for wartime Winchesters end with "WIN-2", with the revision number "2" not being changed until the very end. The stock is marked "1" over "WRA/GHD" next to the crossed cannon cartouche (rotated 90 degrees clockwise) on the left side and the circled serifed "P" on the wrist, with a brown leather sling and a checkered steel buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 95% plus of the original parkerized finish, showing a few dings on the gas cylinder, bright cycling wear on the bolt and receiver, and mild edge wear and handling marks overall. The stock is very fine, with a number of mild scuffs and dings overall, and some dark spotting on the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
