Description:

Manufactured in 1941, the Robert Sears inspected Colt Model 1911A1s marked the transition point from Colt's high polish blue to the Parkerization treatment that would become the standard for the rest of the war. Blade and flat top notch sights, with the Rampant Colt bisected address and patents on the matching numbered slide, "RS." stamped frame, short milled trigger, wide hammer, checkered slide stop, thumb safety and mainspring housing, checkered wood-grain plastic grips, unmarked two-tone magazine and a "COLT 45 AUTO" marked full-blue barrel.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 95% plus of the original blue finish, showing some light spotting on the grip straps and some dings on the trigger guard and slide, along with some light edge wear and handling marks overall. The grips are very fine earlier production replacements, with some chipping and scattered dents. Mechanically excellent.
