Description:

Very desirable example of a U.S. Colt Model 1911A1 semi-automatic pistol that was produced for the Navy circa 1939. It has an all blue finish, with the two-block Colt slide markings divided by the Rampant Colt, and the matching number on the back beneath the firing pin stop. The frame is marked "60/VP" on the trigger guard, and "P/H" around the magazine catch; by serial number, the pistol falls between the tenure of inspectors Walter Gordon and Charles Reed. Fitted with a short milled trigger, wide knurled hammer, long grip safety, checkered slide/stop, thumb safety and arched mainspring housing, checkered wood grips, and a "COLT 45 AUTO" barrel.

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine, with 97% plus of the original blue finish, showing a brown patina and mild dents around the slide stop, mild spotting concentrated on the grips traps, and some mild handling marks and edge wear overall. The grips are fine, with a crack in the left panel running through the upper screw, dents and scuffs. Mechanically excellent. Magazine not included.
