Description:

Manufactured in limited quantities during World War II, hard data on the users of the Everitt knife are limited; some have been attributed to the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, aka Carlson's Raiders, which saw action in the Makin Island Raid (first official American ground action in the Pacific Theater) and the "Long Patrol" during the Guadalcanal Campaign. Others have been attributed to agents of the Special Operations Executive. Measuring 11 3/4 inches overall, this dagger is fitted with a 6 3/4 inch long single fuller double edged spear tip blade. The alloy handle is cast directly around the blade tang, with a few traces of a dark finish in the low areas, integral studded knuckles, and "EVERITT" on either side in a checkered panel. The sheath is brown leather construction, with a steel reinforcement plate on the rear and a protective staple on the throat.

Rating Definition:

Very fair. The blade is bright overall, with heavy spotting along the edges and tip, as well as in the fullers. The hilt shows a number of scratches and dents, especially on the left side of the grip closer to the pommel, along with some dark spotting. The sheath is good, with some scuffs, cracks and stains.
