Jack T. Haugh of Indiana made a name for himself as a manufacturer of fine contemporary percussion rifles, as well as his fine work in modern custom rifles and sporting arms. Ramped, hooded beaded blade front with flip up poachers bead and three leaf (one fixed, two folding) rear notch sights with gold inlaid sight lines, on a raised quarter rib. The barrel is marked "J.T. HAUGH MILAN, IND". Standard Mauser maker's markings on the receiver with German crown proofs, quick release scope bases and Leupold VARI-X III 5x5 scope. The floorplate and trigger guard are engraved with flourishes of light decorative scroll. Fancy, checkered walnut pistol grip stock with ebony forend cap, engraved blue steel grip cap, raised cheekpiece, and checkered steel buttplate.

Exceptionally fine as assembled, engraved and finished by Master Gunsmith Jack Haugh. 99% of the deep blue finish remains with some light handling and cycling marks on the bolt handle and body. The stock is also very fine with crisp checkering, attractive grain, and some small pressure marks. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent with clear optics.
