Confirmed by the included Colt letter this revolver was a sample and display of a Kit Carson commemorative issue revolver kept by the Colt factory and was the first revolver made in the series the letter also confirms the caliber, barrel length, blue and casehardened finishes, grips, and gold etched Kit Carson commemorative motifs on the barrel. Complete with a Colt "wood grain" box with a Custom Shop end label numbered to the gun. The included packing list confirms that this revolver was placed in the archive in 1984.

Near new, with only the slightest handling marks. Box is very good with some humidity damage and a taped end label.
