The included notarized affidavit from retired Shelby County, Tennessee Sheriff Roy C. Nixon states that this pistol was presented to him as a gift in December of 1970 by none other than Elvis Presley himself. Elvis of course was a sworn Shelby County sheriff's deputy, as were several other members of the "Memphis Mafia". Included with the affidavit is a copy of the ATF Firearms Transaction Record dated December 2, 1970. The record shows that Elvis used his Beverly Hills address when purchasing the pistol which is listed by serial number. The document also shows that Elvis personally signed for the pistol. A copy of an ATF "Out of Business Records Search" further confirms that the pistol was purchased by Elvis from Kerr Sport Shop Inc. of Beverly Hills, California. Also included is a copy of the famous picture of The King and various members of the Shelby Co. Sheriff's Department and "Memphis Mafia" displaying their badges and a copy of a photograph of Elvis as a child with a caption reading "To Sheriff Nixon, My sincere thanks for your friendship. Respectfully, Little Elvis". The pistol features fixed blade and notch sights, standard markings and Belgian proofs, full coverage Renaissance grade leafy scroll engraving, and smooth faux pearl grips. A Browning soft case is also included.

Near new overall. 99% plus original finish remains with some traces of light spotting around the muzzle and light handling marks on the grips. Mechanically excellent. A very fine piece of Elvis memorabilia with signed affidavit from long time friend Sheriff Roy Nixon!
