Description:

Manufactured in 1979 and subsequently shortened (no front sight refitted) and engraved with traditional American scroll and geometric engraving with stippled backgrounds and "The Lone Ranger" inscribed down the back strap. The grips appear to be mastodon. It comes in a hardwood display case with a Colt Firearms medallion in the lid and a matching pin inside. Also included with the revolver are documents related to the 1992 murder of Charles T. Gold known as "Black Bart" in his gunslinging act. Gold's wife (a former Playboy bunny in the 1950s) and his stepson arranged to pay $25,000 to have the stepson's drug dealer arrange "Black Bart's" murder, so they could collect life insurance money in addition to Gold's other property. The wife, stepson, and drug dealer were eventually convicted. The hitman was given immunity for his part in prosecuting the others. "Black Bart" was the former owner of this revolver per the consignor.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall as professionally engraved and altered with bright surfaces, light cylinder rotation marks, and minor handling and storage marks. The case is very good with mild storage wear. Mechanically excellent as professionally reworked for "quick draw" shooting.
