These pistols were only manufactured c. 1947-1953 and only 200-205 were ever made. It features a pinned blade front sight, adjustable target rear sight, "A.H. TOMPKINS/SPRINGFIELD/MASS., U.S.A." on top at the breech, "PATENT APPLD. FOR/MFG. NO. 91." on the left, "MF'D. AT/VARSITY MFG. CO." on the right, and a very light trigger pull. Number "91" penciled under grip cap on wood, the matching number scratched into the interior of cap. An advertisement/article about the pistol titled "Slapless Trigger Improves Pistol Aim" from Popular Science in April 1948 is included.

Very fine with 85% plus original blue finish overall, mostly on the barrel and action, some moderate dents on top of breechblock, light spotting and browning on the trigger guard, and some edge wear on the plastic butt cap. Varnish appears thin with approximately half of the finish remaining. Mechanically excellent.
