Also known as the Model 1926 Hand Ejector Pre-War, the .44 Hand Ejector 3rd Model "Wolf & Klar" double action revolver was manufactured from 1926 to 1941. This model was usually available on special order only, not catalogued until 1940 and had a shrouded extractor barrel as requested by the Fort Worth, Texas dealer Wolf & Klar. Offered here is an example with a scarce 6 1/2 inch barrel. The accompanying factory letter confirms the barrel length, finish and checkered walnut non-medallion grips. It was part of the first large shipment of this model that left the factory on April 16, 1927, and delivered to Wolf & Klar Co. of Fort Worth Texas. This revolver was part of the first shipment to Wolf & Klar for this model. It has standard S&W markings, lanyard ring and fixed sights. Matching serial numbers are found on the butt, cylinder and ejector shroud. The assembly number "60018" is stamped on the yoke and crane. Provenance: Ray Cheely Collection, Chad Gripp Collection.

Excellent plus. The revolver retains over 99% original blue finish showing a light cylinder drag line. Nearly all of the original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are excellent showing a few minor handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. A fantastic example of a Smith & Wesson Wolf & Klar 1926 Model revolver that was part of the first shipment to the Fort Worth dealer it is named after.
